Curtis Family Farming Grass-fed Beef in Southwest France
Oh Hello Chickens, I Know It’s Chilly
But will you please lay some more eggs? Don’t look at me with one eye and then the other thinking I will understand. I understand this: I feed you. You lay eggs. Got it? Awesome. Glad we had this little talk.
Ya need to put a light timer on, they won’t lay unless they have enough light in the day – 10 hours is I think the magic number! Then maybe a little bribe and a stern talking too might work 😉

Add a light on a timer in their coop. Egg laying requires ~14 hours of daylight. Add 1/2 hour to 1 hour per week. a big change shocks em.
K. I’m on it 🙂
our girls shut down also but then with a little increase in light they started again. Ours have houses so perhaps a little more warmth
