Pork Butt Is Not A Butt

There are some new arrivals on the farm.  Sassy, oinky, funny little things.

It’s our new bonfire.   Everyone loves to watch the pigs.

So far, they are well behaved and doing a great job turning over the soil.

They started like this …

… and now it’s like this.  We want them to dig up this patch for a veggie garden.  After, they will work the forest.

A pork butt is actually a pork shoulder.  We made sausages last night … yum!

The herd is in Emerson.  Very fat and loving this weather!

    Do you have loaner pigs? My garden could definitely stand to be worked over like that.

      totally! Now that they are here, we are looking at “hotspots” to turn over. They are hilarious 🙂

    I want a pig!!! Of course, my dogs and husband may have other opinions but who cares? 😉

      I was surprised how fun they are. Cows and chickens are as funny.

      hah!! no! we happened to buy a pig off a farmer for meat. I wrote it funny.
